Managing Confinement

Greetings my lovelies. How are you doing? I know it’s been awhile since I’ve posted, but if you follow me on Instagram then you know why – I moved to Paris nearly 2 weeks ago! I spent the last two weeks of February and the first two weeks of March saying goodbye to friends and family, selling my belongings, and arranging the move. Finally, I arrived in France on Monday, March 16th and the very next day the entire country went into confinement due to the Covid 19. What a time to move, right? Confinement was supposed to end on March 31, however, the government extended it another two weeks today until April 15th. I am grateful it was only a two week extension; the science council recommended a full 6 weeks!

Now that I am sitting in one place, I wanted to just send a message out to everyone. The world has gone a bit topsy turvy the past few weeks and it has been a big adjustment for all of us. I know it has been hard for me to stay positive some days, but I am working to take things just one day at a time. Focusing on the small victories can really help you avoid feeling overwhelmed by the current state of affairs. Also, creating a schedule can really help minimize feelings of anxiety and stress. If you are in need of a suggested schedule, take a look at this simple schedule on my Instagram. I created this simple schedule to help you better manage your day.

I am sure you are more in tune with your feelings now and I just want to encourage you to keep that up. If you feel yourself spiraling downward reach out to friends or family for support. We are all in this together. For those of you that are single, I can completely empathize with any feelings of loneliness you might be feeling. I have not had a hug or been within one kilometer of anyone in nearly two weeks. When confinement ends, I may just hug the first person I meet on the street – who knows. However, just remember there are people out there who love you and care for you. Video chat with them as often as possible – you will be able to hug again!

If you need suggestions on how to care for your wellbeing during this time, take a look at my posts on in the Heart & Soul tab. You might find the article on “Caring For Yourself When You Feel Overwhelmed” and “Nutrition Tracking and Workout Apps” helpful.

Please stay safe everyone and head the advice of the medical professionals by staying at home. Only venture out for essential needs like the pharmacy or grocery store and try to do so during off hours. Restez chez vous mes amours!
